Bleed explores a sublime language of stillness. With a single, 42-minute composition, The Necks masterfully express the unspeakable beauty of decay and space in yet another totally distinct entry in a vast and stunning body of work. "I think this is easily the stillest album we've ever done," says Necks' bassist Lloyd Swanton. Differing from the sustained improvisations that are their live performances, The Necks' studio albums take shape by way of intricate crafting throughout the entire recording and mixing process. Bleed also features additional instrumentation to The Necks' usual live palette of piano, bass and drums/percussion with guitar, keyboards, samples, kalimba and mandolin included on the album. Since the release of Travel in 2023 The Necks have completed two huge European tours that included a majority of sold-out performances including 4 consecutive dates in London as well as an Australian tour. In June they performed with Australia's Back to Back Theatre at the Biennale Teatro 2024 in Venice Italy. The Necks will once again tour Europe in November and will return to Australia for a tour in Jan/Feb 2025 (dates to be announced October 11 with the release of Bleed).
